Mae Sot is a small community in a remote location of Thailand, and among the most culturally diverse. But don’t let its tiny size fool you — this vibrant little town boasts several restaurants and an energetic nightlife. This bustling border town is positioned between Thailand and Myanmar, and is often a resting place for travelers passing through. The town’s economy largely consists of teak and gemstone exports, trading primarily with Myanmar.

Popular sites include Tham Mae Usu, a beautiful cave, and the town’s local market. Buddhist temples and Islamic mosques are the main religious places of worship in Mae Sot, thanks to the multicultural population.

Day 1

Arrive at the airport.
Transfer by van to the hotel, timing based on flight details provided.
Check into the hotel at any time after 3 p.m.
Noon – 5 p.m.: Visit the welcome table in the hotel lobby.
6:30 p.m.: Thai-style, set-menu welcome dinner with 1 complimentary soft drink in a local restaurant.

Day 2

6:30-8 a.m.: Breakfast at the hotel.
8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.: Full-day Mae Sot city sightseeing and temple tour; includes lunch, tour guide and transportation.
• 8:30 a.m.: Pickup from the hotel.
• Enjoy a city sightseeing tour of Mae Sot, including views of local temples.
• 11 a.m. – noon: Walk around the border area where Thailand meets Myanmar.
• Noon: Thai-style, set-menu lunch at a local restaurant.
• 1 p.m.: Transfer to Namtok Pha Charoen National Park.
• 1:30-4 p.m.: Visit and swim at the magnificent Pha Charoen waterfall.
• 4 p.m.: Return to the hotel.
6:30 p.m.: Thai-style, set-menu dinner with 1 complimentary soft drink at a local restaurant.

Day 3

6:30-7:30 a.m.: Breakfast at the hotel.
7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.: Volunteer Day with Blessed Homes; includes lunch and transportation.
• 7:30 a.m.: Pickup from the hotel and transfer to Blessed Homes.
• Spend time volunteering. You will assist with light construction, painting and property beautification projects.
• Noon – 1 p.m.: Set-menu lunch at the site.
• 1-4 p.m.: Continue volunteer services at Blessed Homes.
• 4 p.m.: Return to the hotel.
The rest of the evening at your leisure.
6:30 p.m.: Thai-style, set-menu dinner with 1 complimentary soft drink at a local restaurant near the Mae Sot border.

Day 4

6:30-7:30 a.m.: Breakfast at the hotel.
7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.: Volunteer Day with Blessed Homes; includes lunch and transportation.
• 7:30 a.m.: Pickup from the hotel and transfer to Blessed Homes.
• Spend time volunteering. You will assist with light construction, painting and property beautification projects.
• Noon – 1 p.m.: Set-menu lunch at the site.
• 1-4 p.m.: Continue volunteer services at Blessed Homes.
• 4 p.m.: Return to the hotel.
6:30 p.m.: Farewell buffet dinner with 1 complimentary soft drink at the Blessed Homes orphanage. Celebrate the success of the volunteer projects and take the time to thank the children for the privilege of helping them.

Day 5

6:30-10 a.m.: Breakfast at the hotel.
The rest of the morning at your leisure until checkout and your flight.
Check out of the hotel by noon.
Transfer to airport, timing based on flight details provided.

Cancellation Policy*: If you cancel 46 days or more prior to your trip, you’ll get a full refund. If you cancel within 45 days of your trip, your trip will not be refunded.

Name Change Policy: If you change any name(s) on your booking 30 days or more before the start date of your trip, you’ll be charged a fee of US$50 per name change. Name changes are not permitted within 30 days of the start date of your trip.

Hotel/resort credits and/or discounts cannot be converted to cash, and any not used during your stay will expire immediately upon your departure. Member is responsible for paying any taxes that may be added to items purchased with hotel/resort credit.

In the unfortunate event that an activity or excursion is no longer available, we will substitute a similar activity of equal or greater value.

It’s important to double check that you have all the identification and other documentation required by the specific country you’re traveling to. In many countries, passports and visas must be valid for 6 months or longer after the trip end date. If you are unable to obtain the required identification and other documentation, the Cancellation Policy for this VolunTour will apply.

Members with additional people in the room, not booked prior to travel, will be charged the hotel’s prevailing rate, not the trip price.
